Stritt & Priebe, Inc. is a privately held New York State Corporation established in 1922 by John W. Priebe and Harry Stritt as a pipe, valve and fitting supply house. The original location of the company was in an old church building on the far west side of Buffalo near the Niagara River. The church, now an official Buffalo landmark, was one of the departure points to Canada on the Underground Railroad prior to the Civil War. In 1992 the company moved to a modern 40,000 square foot facility at 37 Clyde Avenue in Buffalo.
Two more generations of Priebe family ownership followed. Buffalo changed a lot in the ensuing years and many industrial supply houses came and went. For over 85 years, Stritt & Priebe, Inc. serviced the industrial and institutional community with piping products and steam specialties.
Now, after the retirement of Edgar S. Priebe, new owners Bill Victor and Joel Scott plan for Stritt & Priebe to serve Buffalo and beyond. The corporate mission is to form long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships by utilizing our knowledge, unique talents and cooperative attitudes to serve our customers with regard to quality, service and price. For Stritt & Priebe, “service” has many facets. It starts with a seasoned sales professional taking your call and providing options, answers and commitment to fulfill your requirements. It concludes with the delivery of your order, where and when you want it.
After only two years under new ownership, Stritt & Priebe's business grew 30%! The principal reason for our success is that every member of the staff recognizes that exceptional customer service is the defining characteristic and the driving force of Stritt & Priebe, Inc. Let us demonstrate for your company how a truly responsive supply house can enhance your operations. We are committed to earning your business!
Post Script: What ever happened to Harry Stritt? He died six months after the start of Stritt & Priebe. For many years people working late at the original building would report hearing him rattling around in the attic or the cellar (taking inventory, no doubt) on cold winter nights.
Not sure? Special Options? Immediate help? Give us your requirements and we will contact you as soon as possible.
